Weathering Extremes

For decades, the U.S. far right has been grappling with climate change and questioning the place that environmentalism ought to occupy in its politics. These internal debates have only grown more intense as the effects of climate change in the United States have become difficult to ignore. Axelle Germanaz investigates those factions that are breaking with their movements dominant politics of 'climate obstruction' to embrace environmentalism as part and parcel of their white supremacist agenda. Through close analyses of far-right cultural materials produced from the 1980s to today, she examines contemporary forms of far-right environmentalism found in the movement, as it attempts not just to survive but thrive in the era of climate change.
