Indian Folk Medicinal Plants of District Mandla Madhya Pradesh

India is a rich folk medicinal plants heritage that is however disappearing due to modernization, technological developments and loss of natural habitats and over exploitation of natural resources. Though the study is restricted to Medicinal plants diversity of Mandla district, its finding are to a great extent relevant to the herbal remedies among the natives of the neighbouring areas. Hence, this study will be a contribution to the ethnomedicinal of the region as a whole. The tribes of Mandla district utilize a large number of plants to cure human and cattles diseases and all species of folk medicinal importance are mentioned in this book. The importance of this book for the scientific fraternity as well as the common people was kept in mind while describing them. Hence, the description of each plant is grouped under eight categories, viz. Botanical name, Local name, Family occurrence and Status Botanical description with flowing and fruiting and medicinal importance. Efforts are made to describe the salient feature of herbs for better identification and documentation.
